please contact Referee Coordinator, parris sanders via email to reserve a spot in this clinic.
How to Become a Referee: To become a referee in Oklahoma, you must first attend an 09 Recreational Referee Course. There is no age requirement to attend the 09 course, but it is recommended that the candidate be at least eleven years of age. The class is nine hours in length and a 50 question multiple choice, true/false test will be given at the completion of the course. The candidate must pass the test with a 75% score. Cost = $50.00 payable at the first session. The cost will include registration and training. Once a referee has attended an 09 Recreational Referee class, he/she may attend an 08 class. Requirement: there is no age requirement to attend the 08 course, but it is recommended that the candidate be at least fourteen years of age. The class is twelve hours in length and a 100 question multiple choice, true/false test will be given at the completion of the course. The candidate must pass the test with a score of 75 or better. Cost = $50.00 payable at the first session, unless the candidate has taken the 09 class within the regristration year (January to December). The cost for that candidate is $35.00. All referees must attend a recertification class every fall to allow them to register for the following year. Referee registration is from January 1 to December 31. Registration for 2007 will close on June 1, 2007. Recertification clinics for 2007 will be conducted throughout the state from June 1 to December 31, 2006. Several clubs host Referee Clinics throughout the year. You are free to attend any clinic. Just contact the club administrator to let him know that you will be coming. For upgrades, all sessions must be attended to complete the clinic. Tests will be given during the final hour of each session.
Candidates will leave the course as registered referees with the appropriate badge (09 or 08).
