TOPSoccer, which is the acronym for "The Opportunity to Play Soccer", is a program that enables youth with disabilities to experience "The Beautiful Game". The Program is designed to bring learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl who has a mental or physical disability.
The TOPSoccer program completed its third season this last October. We had over 45 players and 75 volunteers. The award ceremony was held and players received medals and a drink donated by Jamba Juice. Please join the fun this spring as we start our fourth season of this very rewarding program sponsored by the Edmond Soccer Club.
Congratulations to Sutton Squire for being nominated for the Oklahoma Soccer Association 2016 TOPSoccer Buddy of the year! Thanks Sutton for all you do to help make TOPSoccer a successful program at ESC! Good luck on February 4!

Who will be working with my child?
The TOPSoccer Program Director, Lisa Schritter-Miley, is a certified Special Education and P.E. teacher. She will recruit volunteers to work as “Buddies” to TOPSoccer participants. These “Buddies” are recruited from local schools and colleges.
What will be the format of the sessions?
Each Sunday afternoon session begins with soccer games and skills practice. After a short recess, we will break-out into small-sided games for the balance of the day. Participants will be placed on teams according to skills, not age. The game format will be either 3 versus 3 or 8 versus 8. Modifications to the games will be utilized as necessary.
What do you need from the TOPSoccer families?
A Family member is expected to be present at all games and practices. It is important to prepare your child for this activity by providing adequate water, nutritional needs, and emotional support. Providing up to date and information on your application and as the season progresses, updating the staff with any new information will help us to plan for your player’s needs. Report any concerns promptly to the Program Director. Our endeavor is to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
