Parris joined the ESC family in 1996 by accepting the invitation to coach a team when his children, Ian and Camille, had decided to play U5 soccer. Today, they are both students at OU. ESC offered the F and E license courses, which he completed, followed by the D license, which he currently holds. Parris began coaching two teams; the Scorpions and the Hot Shots, from which 6 boys and 5 girls went on to play competitive soccer, and from this group, several are now playing college soccer. After four years at ESC, he decided to become a soccer referee and a couple years later was asked to join the ESC Board as Referee Coordinator. In 2006, Parris advanced and quickly earned his State Referee Badge. He has also attained the Grade 6 Level Referee Assessor, Grade 8 Level Referee Instructor, and the Grade 8 Level Referee Assignor. For the state of Oklahoma, Parris served on the OSA Executive Board as the State Referee Administrator and on the Youth Board as the Soccer Start Chairman. In 2007, Parris accepted the position as ESC Administrator. For the club, he has been a past Assistant Tournament Director, present Risk Management Officer, and head of the Referee Committee. He has served as the 'Family Fun Day' Chair for several years and for two years as the Director of the ESC Golf Tournament Fundraiser. For the past several years, Parris has served as Assistant to the Region III Tournament Director assisting in the management of the Region III Southern Regionals Tournament. Being involved with soccer over the past 16 years has been rewarding. Years of following his children around the country to watch them play in tournaments, late nights spent playing indoor soccer, and weeks traveling to soccer workshops, clinics, and Regional Tournaments have enriched his life to a great degree. Parris began his service as ESC General Manager in 2011.
