2009 West Side Alliance Cup Champions

On April 4th and 5th the ESC 98 White girls team played in the West Side Alliance Cup in Sand Springs, OK.  The girls played pool games on Saturday and had ties in both their games on Saturday 1 -1.  The first game was vs Canadian Valley Football Clubs 98 Black team. The second was against the West Side Alliance 98 team. CVFC played WSA in the A bracket's 3rd game and won the game 1 – 0. There win put ESC 98 White into 2nd place in the A bracket and ESC had to play the 1st place team from the B bracket in the semi-final, Tulsa’s 98 Blitz United. In what will go down in the ESC 98 White annuls as the Thrilla-in-da-Chilla (44 degrees, 30mph north wind) ESC played to a 1 – 1 tie, then two overtimes with no goals, then a shootout. Two saves by the ESC goalie Madison Huelskamp and 4 goals from ESC shooters gave ESC a 4 – 2 shootout victory and a 2 – 1 win over Blitz. In the Finals ESC 98 White played Canadian Valley Football Clubs Red team, who had beat WSA in their semi-final, for the championship. The girls won 2 – 0, making ESC 98 White the 2009 West Side Alliance Cup Champions.
