Spring 2008 Academy Registration information

 

The ESC Academy program is designed to allow recreational players U7-U10 to practice and play with kids of like ability.  This program allows players to be challenged according to their level of ability and to help them develop as soccer players.  It gives players the opportunity to work with experienced ESC staff coaches who have an extensive experience playing and coaching the game.

The focus of the training sessions will be teaching each individual the skills necessary to have success in this game.  Players will work with the ball at their feet to make them comfortable with the ball and have the confidence to keep the ball during games.  Each session will lead into small sided games to teach players how to apply the skills to the game.

Player’s development will be monitored throughout the season.  The first week and fifth week of Academy practices, age groups will train together to allow coaches to see the entire group.  Academy coaches will also use games through out the season to continually monitor the progress of players.

The Academy program is also a great tool for preparing players that think they may want to play competitive soccer at U11.

Registration information:

Walk in registration:     Saturday, January 12th                  10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

                                       Friday, January 18th                         3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

                                       Saturday, January 19th                  10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

                                       Sunday, January 20th                       1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Online Registration:   January 21.  Late registration available after that, however registration fee will

Academy Format:

U9 and U10 Teams  
8v8
   Will play games in house and around the NOKC Metro
U7 and U8 Teams  
6v6
   Will play games primarily in house

Teams will be formed based on ability.  Players may move from one team to the next based on their progress.  This evaluation and movement will be up to the coaches working in that age group.

Academy Fees:

 

ESC Spring Registration Fee:  $125       

Uniforms:  approximately $35.00 (2 Academy t-shirts, shorts, socks)

Practice Schedule:

Academy teams will practice 2 sessions per week and play games on Friday evenings:  It will be up to each ESC coach to set their own training schedule for their team.
